33cl bottle via my father and Beer52: BB 21st April 2022. Drank at home on 17th September 2021. Poured into my old Gordons thistle shaped glass it looked good (all dark beers look good it that glass). Very black, tan topping. Singed malty nose and taste, coffee, liquorice, leather, a milky hint with a chocolate twist, mini hop traces for some balance.
Bottle thanks to Marko. Black with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, cocoa and caramel. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice one!
33cl bottle from Beer52.
Thin tan head. Clear almost black pour. A lovely smooth stout.
2017 notes. Black with ochre tint. Small beige to tan head. Good retention. Hoppy-roasty balance. Hops present throughout, moderately hoppy, citrusy. Light roasty and toasty. Prominent roasty flavour, slightly harsh or burnt, balance towards malts. Lasting dry finish. Very creamy and soft texture, medium body, oft carbonation.
Draft at Fakin. Black color brown head with good retention. Earthy chocolate aroma. Taste has lightly bitter unsweetened cocoa.
Tap at Craft Room. Looks quite nice, blackish, brown head if I remember correctly. Dry, malty aroma, vague chocolate, strangely stale in a way, and not that hoppy. Unsure about this, will retry it because of it. The taste, however, did not disappoint. Smooth, dark malts galore, lgiht roast, vague chocolate, no coffee, full and sweetish, vague herbal hoppiness that's there more in feeling than in flavor, buried under layers of malt, way better balanced as it warms really. Nice enough, not their best beer perhaps, but I'd go for this again without any qualms!
