0.33 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', best before May 2021, cellared for about two years. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, quickly diminishing, off-white layer. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes, vanilla and some brandy. Heavily sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of molasses, raisins, prunes, brandy and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly warming finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Great barrel-aging, fairly complex, lovely beer!

From bottle thanks to Ioannis. Hazy murky dark brown color with beige head. Malty aroma, caramel, nutty, dark fruits, vanilla, wood alcoholic. Sweet and light bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
33cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses, raisins, figs, brown sugar, oak, cognac. Flavour is sweet, malty, fruity, cognac/brandy, caramel, raisins, molasses, hint of chocolate, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied, soft mouthfeel. Lacked a bit of body imho and some depth, still quite nice though.
Another of the many barrel aged beers by Kees Bubberman, bottle from De Hopduvel shared by Jan, thanks! Thinnish but densely structured, egg-white head dissolving in the middle, translucent, lightly hazy, caramel brownish bronze colour, a tad darker than the average barleywine. Rich, seductive, perfumey bouquet of plums soaked in brandy, hazelnut oil, cognac, yellow raisins, marmelade, sweet sherry, oaky 'vanilla', brown sugar, honey liqueur, walnut. Candied sweet, but not too sticky onset balanced by a mild sourish note, dried blackberry, candied banana and Sultana raisin impressions, full, oily and heavily vinous mouthfeel, softly carbonated. Clean but notably rich and deep, sweetly nutty malt body, increasingly drenched in lovely vanilla-ish oakiness, a cold tea-like herbal hop character and of course a vividly cognac-like booziness which matches perfectly well with the malt profile. Sugary candied fruit notes, gently drying tannins and warming alcohol linger. Intense, classy sipper, very much to the point for what it intends to be and completely delivering what it promises. One of Bubberman's best creations so far to me and convincing proof that he, like e.g. De Molen, most excells in hefty malt-forward beer styles.
33 cl bottle @ home. Dark brown color. Beige head with short retention. Aroma's: sweet, toffee, red/sour fruit, boozy. Retronasal it's sweet, molasses, fruit-boozy. Flavor is light heavy sweet with some fruity sourness. Fairly strong alcohol feel, warming. Above medium bodied. Long finish, woody, just lightly bitter. Nice!
Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Booze, dark red fruit, hints of caramel and vanilla. Sticky, sweet, syrup-like. Very clearly noticeable presence of brandy. Complex and very well balanced. Full body, low carbonation. Long finish. Nice beer to enjoy sipping at a relaxing evening.
