Keg from Shakespeare Sheffield. Off black colour with a tan head. Aroma and taste are sweet cherry and then light chocolate. Slight cocoa. Smooth body. Not too heavy.

Bottled 650ml (Beergium)
Dark brown colour, small beige head. Strong aroma of cherry and marzipan. Medium-bodied. Sweetish - chocolate, cocoa, cherry and marzipan in the flavour. Smooth and chocolaty but too much cherry to be in balance.

Can (from Khiosk). Pours black with tan head. Aroma and flavor are sweet, cherry extract, roast, malt, burning booze. I expect more from hoppin frog! --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Imperial Stout on 12 May 2019 at 21:52 - Score: 6. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/22/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy red/black cherries, fruit skin/pits, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, almond, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, cherries, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy red/black cherries, fruit skin/pits, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, almond, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, spicy hop; roast/char bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of red/black cherries, fruit skin/pits, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, almond, and toasted dark/brown bread, coffee, dark fruit, light smoke/char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, cherries, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness and fruit tang/tartness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an outstanding flavored imperial oatmeal stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, cocoa, cherries, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish, very soft feel. Awesome balance of rich malts, cocoa, and juicy authentic cherry flavors; with solid earthy hop presence/balance against sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on base style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

Shared at Jim's tasting. Dark pour with a light tan head. Notes of chocolate, marzipan, light mint, tiramisu, raw almonds, amaretto. Medium body and carbonation and a bittwe-sweet finish. A bit weird combination of flavours.

Bottle shared @ JimGreenuk tasting, December 2017. Very dark color (but not entirely black). Dense brownish head. Aroma's: bitterkoekjes, griesmeelpudding, chipolatapudding (take your pick), cherries, amaretto. Retronasal it's cherry liquor, almond, bitterkoekjes. Flavor is moderate sweet, marzipan, roasty. Medium bodied. More bitterkoekjes in the finish, roasty, moderate bitter. Could make a fine dessert beer, but between all the monsters tonight it was a bit out of tune.

Bottle at Jim’s back tasting! Black with beige head. Tiramisu, massive marzipan, fake cherry aroma, light chocolate, strong bitterkoekjes. Medium sweet and quite bitter. Over medium bodied. Super one dimensional and way way too strong on the almond related notes.
