Bottle. Color: Copper, thick light brown head. Taste: Roasted malt, balance between medium sweet and hopbitter. Notes of brown sugar and herbs. Hints of grain, yeast and red fruit. Some pretty harsh resin bitter notes which cause a rather unpleasant and dry mouthfeel.
6 3 6 3 12 Taster glass at the brewery. Clear brown with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, malt, overripe dark fruits and yeast. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Huge and stable yellow irregular head over cold hazed brown-mahogany beer. Malty and yeasty nose, yeast byproducts, melanoidins, rainwater, mild roast. More roast in the flavour; sweet malty, partly coloured underbuild, and again rainwater flavour, dark green leaves. Medium bodied at least, relieved by serious carbonation. Classical, but well-crafted dubbel - a "style" Dutch brewers are getting better at, it would seem.
Bottle at home, brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, sweet. Taste is the same, not that bad.
33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hema Geldermalsen. Hazy light brown with a small off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with some dark fruits. Sweet taste and a quite thin body.
