Bottle. Clear ruby maroon color, off white head. Aroma of figgy pudding. Taste has caramel, toffee, dark fruit.
Bottle thanks to mikem409: Poured a burnt brown orange with a thin off white to tan head. Aroma is leafy and dark fruit. Taste is a sweet dark fruit with nice sweet malts, light burn in the finish but stays slightly sticky.
Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 10/3/11
Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, with some caramel, and lots of dark fruit notes
Appearance: The pour is a clear caramel-brown color with a sticky and foamy beige head
Flavor: The taste is also rather sweet, some dark fruit, and heavy malts, with a little spice
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a sticky, almost cloying mouthfeel, and a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: Rating # 1900! This isn't a particularly interesting beer. It's overly sweet, and it isn't really a quality example of the dubbel style, but it isn't a terrible brew either. It is somewhat drinkable, though a little too sweet, and ultimately underwhelming.
