Our Brett Venture series is the exploration of how single strains of Brettanomyces ferment and condition a Saison malt bill. Each Brett Venture will be fermented in and aged in wine barrels with a different Brettanomyces strain to showcase its unique characteristics. Brett Venture #1 showcases a Brettanomyces strain isolated by our friend at BKYeast from Cantillon.

Bottle thanks to Dustin. Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head. The aroma is strong funk, brett, lemon. Medium mouth, funky, lemon zest, brett, oak, very nice.

Bottle at RBWG. Hazy to cloudy yellow color, white head. Aroma of lemon, white pepper, raw sourdough bread. Taste is softly sour citrus. Tasty.

Bottle shared by Peter. Pours yellow with white head. Nose and taste of saison yeast, white wine, lemon oak and yeasty apple. Medium body.

Draft - Funky Bret and lemon. Hazy yellow with a rich head. Bret, lemon and a creaminess. A nice drinkable beer, that has some of the flavours and consistency of a blended drink.
