1980 version, tasted @ Kulminator, september 9th 2006. Aroma and flavor have porto, cherry juice and a very soft malt character. Has lost all its carbon, but not its bite. Caramel, lemon and cherry in the flavor. The alcohol remains totally unnoticed. Absolutely great beer.

Bottle - pours dark brown - nose/taste of toffee, maple, raisin, oud bruin, caramel - med body.

Sample now 37 yrs old, perfectly preserved No head left; deep ruby tinted brown beer. Lactic acid, touch of acetic (Rodenbach yeast!), wood, vinous, fishsauce, balsamico, yoghurt, sangria with tapas. Wonderful. Sweetish, sour, lactic, milkchocolate, old wine. Thinner than it used to be, but still slick, some alcoholheat. 37 years ago, it used to be one of my all-time favourites, and it still turns out great. Up to 10, 12 years ago, this beer might have well earned 4.8/4.9 on 5. 9/4/8/4/17 Abject thanks to Stef!

Bottle shared at A Day To Sink All Sea Shepards tasting. Very hazy amber brown with no head. Aroma of caramel, malt, toffee, oxidized unsurprisingly, sherry notes and vinous characters. Flavour is heavy sweet and light sour. Full bodied with very soft carbonation. Really interesting one to try! [17-09-2016]

Bottle shared at the original Chez Moeder Lambic’s cellar. Haz amber copper color with no head. Malty and yeasty aroma, caramel, light bread, wood, cherries, sherry, vinous. Moderate sweet and light bitter taste with some acidic notes. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Clear light to medium brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is vintage, sherry - port, light alcohol, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light bitter and acetic (vinegar) with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily / syrupy, carbonation is flat. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet long duration, riped fruit, oxidide, fruity yeast, wood, vinous, light sour - acidic.
