8/VII/14 - 75cl bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2014-786) Thanks to PriorL for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy dark beige to amber beer, small aery head, little stable. Aroma: very fruity, bit moldy, cellar, wood notes, little vinous, hint of banana, bit lemony, sourish. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lemony start, bit grassy, sour green apples, wood notes, some walnuts, pretty sour and acidic. Aftertaste: dry, earthy, lemon juice, bit of alcohol, little bitter, apple skin.
Bottled, lot 02/04/2010 BB 2020, large sample. Slight hazy golden color, short head. Aroma has horseblanket and barnyard, funk, some spicy autumn leaves like stuff. Wonderfully complex, but all very balanced, not overpowering on tart or funky aroma’s. Soft sour in taste, hint of sweetness. Quite high on carbonation, but just perfect for the beer. It has been a while I had some of the other Armand’4s, but this one suits the moment perfectly.
75cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks a lot! Pours hazy deep golden to orange with a lasting white head. Funky aroma with barnyard, fruity notes, sour berries and hints of hops. Nice and sour with lots of flavours. Balanced and delicious!
Bottle. Hazy light amber liquid liquid with medium white head. Aroma of red berries, lemon peel, earth, funk, barnyard, apple skin and bread. Taste is quite dry and medium sour with notes of apple skin, red berries, wood and bread. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. A bit fruitier than winter.
Hazy but that’s due to being driven here from Chicago. Burnt orange Lots of fecal and muddy aroma. Nice funky tartness. Not the best of the Armand’s but very nice
Unclear golden amber with a modest white head that lasts all the way down the glass and coats it. Light earthy musty aroma with lemon and under-ripe apricots. Medium carbonation, slightly kefir-like texture - very alive. Delicate stone fruits, gentle lingering citrus flavours. Sourness is strong but not aggressive or sharp. Really nice - lots going on but remains easy going. Very open flavours, mellow fruit under the funk.
