Clear gold with a small head. Black pepper and dusty notes. Sour and some pepper notes. Gooseberry is there, but doesn't really pop at this age.

Occasional ’beer’ for the 20th anniversary of beer club HBL, consisting of old Cantillon lambic, Iris, Achilles gooseberries and a ’liqueur’ for refermentation in the bottle, like they do in the Lou Pépé range. Thick, regular, yellowish white head, deep orange blonde colour, murky. Intense aroma of sherry, lemon juice, hay, grapes, tomato, honey and indeed a lot of gooseberry. Taste very fruity, less acid than I would have expected from this brewery (probably because of the Iris, which has a softer character than usual for Cantillon), even a sweetish touch at a certain moment, strong carbonation, dry sourness, gooseberry present but not overwhelmingly, typical funky, dry and thirst-quenching finish. A different Cantillon and less exciting than I had expected.

Bottle. Hazy golden color, large fluffy cream colored head that settles quickly. Aroma of fruit skins, dust and white pepper. Taste is solidly sour grapefruit, lemonpeel, subtle pepper, attic. Very nice.

Sunny orange colour with small yellowish head, gone fast. Fruity, dry lambic nose, aroma of unripe kiwifruit, green grapes, horseblanket. Very raw fruit acids and lactic acid (point of acetic as well, but very restrained). I get a bit of liqueur, but as to which - Bénédictine? Very earthy flavours, fresh, not quite ripe berries. More tart, you die. HBL-people - sorry. I had the try-out, and didn’t completely like it - that was just too raw. This one is excellent, now.
