Location: On tap at Hop Devil Grill, 2/10/10
Aroma: Roasted malts, raisins, chocolate, and nuts
Appearance: Dark brown color with a tan head
Flavor: Sweet roasted malt flavor, raisin, oatmeal
Palate: Medium body, smooth and drinkable
Overall Impression: At first I was feeling a lot of sugary sweetness in this one, but there are some other parts to it as well. It turns out to be a pretty nice porter, it has a lot of flavor, and though it is a touch too sweet, I did like it.
Tap at Max’s in Baltimore, courtesy of Rob - than you sir! Thin maroon color with an edge head and no lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and vanilla. Flavor starts with caramel, progresses to malt balls and cocoa with a scotch finish. Interesting.
