This old gueuze is a blend of old and young lambic matured in large oak barrels called foudres. It is then bottled in a beautiful champagne bottle where a second fermentation takes place. After 6 months, the gueuze obtains a golden colour and is slightly carbonated and tart. But kept in a cellar for a few years, it becomes truly exceptional!

Bottle 37.5cl corked and capped, bottled 04/2016, bought 03/2017, bbd 04/2022, @home poured into a tumbler. Colour is brilliant deep golden, small and moussy steady off-white head, light lacing. Refined aroma, soft sourish, lemon, lactic acid, some vinegar, fruity esters, light woody touch. Clean sour taste, brett, goose berry, astringent but also mild mouthfeel. Mellow sour aftertaste goes on and on, very well-balanced, well-made and delicate geuze, excellent. Good introduction to the style.

Tasted as part of the gueuze tasting led by H.ertie. 2017 bottle, but still definitely needs more age. Not as round as others. Some sourness, fairly sweet, taste doesn't really linger well. Needs more brettyness.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a medium white head. Aromas of citrus, some spicy notes, green apples, lots of funk and stabley notes. Taste is funky, peachy, green apples, subtle spices, stable.
