Bottle from Hoptimism. Rich mess colour with a slim head. Aroma and taste are sour cherry and smooth. Crisp not thin body.

330ml bottle shared with Mike. Misty pink appearance. Lovely woody cherry nose, taste seems a little subdued not hugely sour. Perhaps needed to be cooler, but nice settled cherry notes do present themselves. Lightly tart, lightly sour. Good overall.

Lovely stuff. Tart, fruity, lots of cherry, but oaky leathery barrel there too.

Süffiger, moderat säuerlicher Beginn. Spritzig, natürlich, viel Frucht. Etwas trockener, minimal kräutriger Abgang, nach wie vor viel Frucht. Gut. 10/11/12/12//11

Sour cherry variant on Kernel's sour ale series called "Bière de Saison" (a bit confusingly if you ask me, but anyway). Tasted from tap at Dok Brewing Co in Ghent. Bright pink, regular, moussy head quickly opening in the middle, over a beautiful blood red beer with deep ruby hue. Aroma of indeed a lot of sour cherry juice, raspberry vinegar, sour red apples, redcurrant, raw rhubarb, 'clean' wood, sour yoghurt, lemon, rosé wine, hint of sweat. Crisp, sour onset, a truckload of sour cherries in a clean, straightforward but elegant way, lemony sour edges, a tad raspberry vinegar-like in the end over a medium carbonated, soft and clean, 'white' bready and cereally malt base; fruit acidity as well as lactic sourness dominate till the end, drying the finish along with a woody yet not too outspoken tannic effect. Another elegant, 'clean' and straightforward, but hugely quenching sour in this series, with extra points for its ravishing looks.
