Hazy copper colour with lasting head. Earthy. Noticeably malty. Whisky taste. Easy to drink. Full and flavoursome. Great session beer.
Bottle at home. (Dupont Triomf Biologique 6%). Unclear orangey pour with little white ring head. Dry malts, soft ashy (cigarette) smoke tones and whisky malt comes through after a while. Light sweet, medium bitter. Light body and dry finish, bit low carbonated.
Cloudy medium amber colour, good frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing. Light aroma, smoked malt, smoked meat, light peat. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruit (apricot, peach), smoky background, retronasal smoke and peat. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy notes, nice light-weight smoked beer.
Bottle. Muddy amber. I'm a sucker for smoky beers and this is certainly a bacon fest. Bit thinner than I'd like and the ashiness could linger longer.
Bottle. Pale amber color. Smoked malt in the aroma. At least medium bodied. Bready flavor with peach and smoke. Well made beer.
Bottle from Dupont. Hazy golden orange, low head. Estery nose, lightly smoky, apricots, touch of cheese. Slightly more smoky, still estery, more than their saison, slightly phenolic, bread. Bit of orange. Soft, silky. Somewhat soft finish. Interesting and pretty nice.
Clear deel blond body. Off-white head. Aroma of caramel and lightly smoked. Balanced flavour.
Bottle from a Carrefour in Bruges. Pours hazy golden with a big, foamy, white head. The aroma contains hops, spices, yeast, smoke, barley, grass, bread, some banana and iron. It tastes light sweet and medium herbal bitter with a short, hoppy, dry, slightly metallic finish. Medium body, slick/watery texture, lively carbonation. Not sure about this one. It’s positively complex, yet whilst tasting I’m getting more of the ’organic’ basis of malt whisky than actual peatiness. So in terms of taste it’s very much an organic beer, which I can’t fully appreciate. I enjoyed it for a while but a sample would have sufficed.
