“STS” is the 3-letter code for our local Sonoma County airport, the Charles M. Schulz Airport. STS Pils is a classic German-style pilsner but with a Russian River twist because we dry hop this beer with a small amount of European hops. It is straw in color and will often have a slight haze due to the fact that there is a small amount of yeast left in the beer. This beer is hop-forward with a firm malt foundation, strong lager yeast characteristic, and a dry, bitter finish.

A truly great Pilsner is a difficult beer to perfect, as its light crisp flavor profile leaves little room for error. Modern brewing techniques (such as open-top fermentation) and old-world traditions create the distinct qualities in STS Pils.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with small creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong wheat and spruce. Medium mouth, bitter, grass, lingering dry finish, decent.

I was just looking at Russian River on Instagram or something and saw this beer. I was like, aw another beer I cant try. Then I come over to Pruf’s house to play some MtG and the is is in his fridge. Well, at that point I’m all, forgot the awesome smoked dunkel you got sitting there let’s have some RR pilsner!!!!! Lightly pale gold color with strong medium head. It’s a very dry clean lager, which that emphasizes the hop bitterness. So the perceived iBUs are higher than the number. It’s mildly noble, not American. So, a dry, bitter, clean spills. Stick it In a cam. It was just under a month past bottling date.
