@ A day to sink all seasheppards. Thnx for sharing, everyone !! Pours black, no real head. Smell is sweet, much dark malts. Taste is sharp, full, boozy, dark grains. Bit bitter.
Side project derivation - Dark roast, a bit of booze and dark chocolate. Deep jet black with a small brown head. Molasses, touch of barrel and booze with a rich finish. Obscene rich mouthfeel.
Pour @ RateBeer Best Festival. Black appearance with a brown head. Aroma has whiskey, anise, dark fruit, chocolate, oak, and some tannins. High, high boost. Boozy going down the hatch. Not way overly sweet and pretty well balanced. Belgian chocolates, licorice, prunes, oak, and whiskey in the flavor. It wasn’t my favorite Imperial Stout from Cory King (that’d be Abraxas or BA Abraxas). While I enjoyed my Danish pour, it was a little too strong for me and bit lacking on the fudge / dark chocolate that I enjoy in big Imperial Stouts.
Tap at the Rate Beer Awards Festival. Oily black. Stanky berries, cocoa, soy, coffee in the nose. Sweet flavor of chocolate and vanilla, big umami, great, smooth balance. Silky, smooth, almost flat. Excellent
On tap at Ratebeer Best. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is chocolate, bourbon, molasses, rye. Thick, chewy, molasses, chocolate, bourbon, lingering sweetness, very impressive.
