Brewed with 130kg of chestnuts.

Za kraj 2017 godine smo htjeli napraviti jedan pravi zimski specijal, ali i eksperiment. Nismo dugo bili napravili pivo s fokusom na sladovima pa je pala odluka da napravimo jedan specijal za zimske dane. Milk Stout, do 5% alkohola, srednjeg tijela i da je upotpunjen KESTENOM! Sjajna ideja je to bila na prvu dok nismo shvatili kako je obrada i korištenje kestena u pivu prvoklasni Pain in the ass! Kao prvo, teško ga je očistiti, nakon čišćenja se mora napraviti pire, a onda se taj pire treba zapeći (Hvala Retro Pizza). Tu sada samo završava obrada kestena, a nakon toga dolazi dodavanje te smjese u pivo. Kada se ta smjesa grune u fazi ukomljvanja, cijeđenje sladovine može postati pakao, što se naravno i desilo.

Na kraju se od očekivanog Milk Stouta od 4,4% alkohola dobije Red Ale od 6,7% alkohola. Čester dame i gospodo! :)

On tap at Svijet piva (World of Beer), Maksimirska, Zagreb. Shared with Zvonko! Clear amber, small off-white head. Lightly hoppy and spicy, fruity, lightly floral, a touch of honey. Dry, light bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, light finish. Chestnut slightly present.

On tap at Valhalla. Misty amber body, lasting off white head. Malty and mild aroma, light light herbal touches, maaybe some chestnut though I would never have picked it out if I didn't know it was there. Same taste, Clean, nice maltiness, slightly on the sweetish side, full, without being cloying. Strange citrus/herbal note (there's only Magnum, and if it's that, it's the best tasting Magnum I've seen in a while). Bit perfumey/herbal, sliiightly soapy. Tasty in a way and interesting... but more interesting than tasty. Not sure they'll be repeating this experiment, but I'm glad to have tried it.
