2014 version on tap at City Beer. Orange-cherry-red-pink, cloudy, with a low, fine head. Nose of grains, crackers, cherry, grapefruit. Interesting flavor: cherry, whole wheat crackers, yogurt, grass. Good. Quite sour yet complex.

Got in a trade with RaulMondesi. 375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/10/2014. Pours very hazy deep orange/amber with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with solid retention, that reduces to a spotty cap that lingers. Some slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of tart cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, caramel, toasted bread, hay, straw, grass, oak, light vinegar, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky yeast, cherry, wine barrel, and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, caramel, toasted bread, hay, straw, grass, oak, light vinegar, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, caramel, toasted bread, oak, hay, straw, light vinegar/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/funky yeast, cherry, wine barrel, and malt flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice fruited sour ale. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, cherry, wine barrel, and malt flavors; and very smooth to drink with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

GABF 2014. Pours a bit hazy yellow orange appearance with a tan head. Qutie tart flavor. Vinous, lemon, light oak, and a bit of berry. Not my favorite from Almanac but pretty good.

Bottle courtesy of GT2. Allowed this to settle down for some time like you recommended. Pours tiny hazy reddish golden with a rather small offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sour and fruity with lemon juice, ripe cherries, moist wood, unflavoured yoghurt, barnyard, hay, dry soil, lemon zest and hints of buttered crackers. Taste is sour and fruity with buttered crackers, lemon juice, cherries, white grapes, hay, dry soil, barnyard, unflavoured yoghurt, cherry stones and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tart and light bodied. Finish is sour and fruity with crackers, lemon juice, sour milk, cherries, hay, dry soil, barnyard and lemon zest. Solid tasty citric centered cherry sour!

Location: Bottled shared by Eric at Dave's Bachelor Party, 9/27/14, Rater #50!

Aroma: The aroma is fairly funky, some wood notes, fruit, and a little yeast
Appearance: The pour is murky orange with a small off-white head and some decent lacing
Flavor: The flavor, like the nose, leans tart, a little fruity sweetness, wood/oak, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a average carbonation, and a fizzy, tart, tingly finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: I've actually seen this one all over NY since I got back, but I actually tried (and enjoyed) a bottle that was brought from the Oakland area to VA. This is a tasty beer. I'm pretty impressed by Almanac thus far, and I look forward to trying a ton more of their beer now that they have distribution to NY.

Dark red, very murky even after sitting upright for 2 weeks. 1 finger head fades fast. Smells very acidic...a touch of wood and balsamic vinegar with strawberry and other salad notes. Whoa, insanely tart. a touch of butter yeah definite buttery finish which is really disappointing. Tart up front, then fades fast. dry mouthfeel.
