12 oz can, poured black with slight ring of tan foam. Full bodied. Chocolate, vanilla and maple aroma. Overly sweet, mildly boozy chocolate taste with pecan and maple notes. Cloying finish.
330 ml bottle. Murky dark brown almost black with a creamy mocha colored head. Chocolate brownies, fudge, apricot brandy and apricot jam, dark chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, some nordic liquorice. A lot of chocolaty sweetness, slightly dry. Full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonated, dry sweetish boozy finish. This is what you call a Pastry Stout, like a liquid chocolate cake.
Pastry stiur mer enn etikettene imperial stout, eller imperial pastry eller noe slikt. Sterk dominans av vanilje. Men jeg kan vel ikke klage over typeriktighet når jeg åpner en flaske fra Omnipollo? Men vel, det treffer liksom ikke meg.
