23/XII/13 - 330ml bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2013-1171) Thanks to Bo for bringing the bottle to Belgium!
Little cloudy brown beer, huge aery fizzy beige head, bit adhesive. Aroma: coffee, mocha, bit dirty, bread, sugary, burnt caramel, sourish, something rotten and unpleasant. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: mocha, coffee, bit sour, burnt toast, overripe banana. Aftertaste: bitter hops, sourish, lots of coffee, mocha, bit of caramel, overripe fruits, dry hoppy bitterness, some citrus, burnt malts. Nope, although it's not bad, I'm not a fan of this thing.
Bottle 33 cl at The Alehouse Project, Melbourne. On July 27, 2013.As "Henry Ford’s Girtsome Fjord Bulgo-Amercian India Brown Ale".Clear deep ruby red color, brown head. SWeet, malty, hoppy, roasted scent, also alcohol. Sweet, malty, roasted taste. Roasted aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.
lots of phenols, brown sugar, light lose body, a bit rough, but fun. Lots of chocolate malt . Moderate bitter finish.
Caramel, banana, phenols, and Belgian yeast. Sweet sugary nose with raisins and some diacetyl. Interesting for sure, and pleasant, though a bit out of whack.
Bottle, 11C. Dark reddish brown with an inch of beige head that lasts and laces well. Aroma of chocolate and a melange of hops aromatics, mainly citrus-leaning, but also some spices. Creamy mouthfeel. Taste is sweet with toffee and burnt mocha, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, quite pungent juniper berries in a creepingly bitter finish. Weird and good - which I guess is what they’re going for. Would go well with game.
