50 cl stone bottle, shared. Amber to red color, light hazy. Off white to beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: sweet malts, sweet fruit, fruit candies, slightly herbal. Retronasal there’s sweetness and herbs, not exactly reminiscent of Beerenburg, a bit like laurierdrop (laurel/bay leaves, licorice). Flavor is moderate sweet, herbal/spicy. Medium bodied. Somewhat prickly mouthfeel at first. Slightly herbal and light bitter finish. OK.
Bottle from het Biermoment, large sample. Clear amber color, short frothy head. Aroma is quite spicy, licorice, candy, slight caramel. Bit dry, bit sweet. Feels like a Quad with licorice (salmiak) notes. Quite nice.

Tap at De Prael. Poured a hazy amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, light sweet malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a rich boozy alcoholic bitter, yeast, fruit palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Considering the ABV there was little alcohol burn. Very drinkable. Shame they don’t sell it in smaller glasses!
Tap sample at De Prael. Hazy golden colour, thin white head. Aroma of sweet malts, oak, spice, herbs, Beerenburg clearly present, fruits, melon. Flavour is sweet, sugary, melon, fruits, barrel, herbal liquor, light bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied. Something else, but the base beer isn’t great.
