0.355l bottle from 'Beergium', bottled in May 2016, cellared for over three years. Pitch black with a thin, beige layer. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of praline, hazelnut, vanilla, some coffee and a touch of brandy. Fairly sweet, malty, gently roasty and a little fruity taste of praline, hazelnut, vanilla, mild coffee and brandy, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, quite warming and just a little boozy finish. Full body, smooth and oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Lovely beer, perfectly balanced, accompanied by delicious flavours from the barrel. Great Imperial Stout from Prairie again!
Bottle thanks to Vestergaard/Rasmusott. Thanks guys. Pours pitch black with a medium dark brown head. Aromas of green sweet apples, chocolate, oaky, apple cake, tobacco, fudge, vanilla. Taste has the some sweet apples, vanilla, dark chocolate, light tobacco, oaky, malty, big cakey finish. Different from what you’re used to in the Prairie stouts - very nice.

Tasting at kermis’s. Bottle shared. Black with almost no head. Massive brandy, soft chocolate fudge, appelstroop, alcohol, vanilla and cinnamon. Massive marshmallow sweet and light soft nutty bitter. Full body, very supple and silky. Bit strong in the alcohol department but overal very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Apple Brandy Barrel Noir on 09 Jan 2018 at 12:47 - Score: 9
