Cask at the Stables, Beamish Hall. Dark brown-black reddish tinged colour, beige foam head leaving lacing and aroma of roasted malt. Taste is dark malty, sweet toffee, milk chocolate, caramel, with roast, nutty earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
