On tap @ As-Is NYC, December 2019. Labeled as: Foxwhelp. Wine glass pour. Clear, bright, gold body. Smell is of calcified apples. Taste is lightly tart, with bitter apple skin, wine seconds & lots of tannins. There's some generic grocery apple fruitiness in the middle, but it becomes more pithy as it warms. Incredibly dry & even a little numbing. Solid. Eden often back-sweetens, but I can't really tell here.
Sample, thanks to Danlo! Pours a golden yellow with light mist. Nice fruity nose, encompassing lightly stewed apple, melon. Taste presents some surprising pineapple and grapefruit notes, alongside a rich apple fruit sweetness, some fleshy moments, skin hints with a nice oily wine-like mouthfeel, comes across a bit like an apfelwein. Pretty good.
750ml bottle from Scrattings. As Eden Cellar Series #12 Oliver's Twist Foxwelp cider. 7.5%, Batch: 2018. Hazy yellow gold colour, short-lived bubbly white foam head and aroma of mellow fruity apple, acidic, peach, light buttery coconut note. Taste is tart, citric fruity, melon, peach, fleshy apple, acidic, bittersweet, with a slight caramel hint. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, very dry tart citric finish. Nicely drinkable.
75CL from Eden’s Club. Smell fantastic. A nice lime an apple aroma. Delicious. Insanely dry. Lime, coconut, apple. Pear. Oak. One of the best ciders from Eden I’ve had.
