Pours black, no real head. Smell is a bit 'meaty'. No real smoke though. Bit sharper whiskey, but no boozyness really. mild roasty back. Taste is full, roasty, tad bitter, bit whiskey, rather sweet. Medium thick body, very low carbo . Very mild, sharp back, reminding of a (mildly) smoked beer, yet doesnt taste smokey on its own to me. Nice !

Draught Rusty rim over jet-black beer, fast dead. Bit inky, liquorice, very mild roast, diary, whiskymalt. Sweet stout, obviously lactose, diary, milkchocolate, vanilla. Finish reveals the booze, whisky. Very oily-slick but not really full-bodied. Low carbonation. One from the sweet side, but a tad more depth might have made this one really great.

28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Cloudy black, lasting, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of vanilla custard, cinnamon, creamy mocha, crème brûlée, wood, burnt caramel, milk chocolate. Taste is medium malty sweet, very creamy & chocolatey with a touch of vanilla on a biscuity base; roasted bitter core of mocha, toast & a spicy edge, restrained dark fruits in the back. Dryish, malty finish, some peppery hops, lingering cream & biscuit with a subtle dash of warming ‘classic’ whisky alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. As expected, much smoother than the Laphroaig version, sweeter too perhaps, certainly as enjoyable.

28/IV/19 - sample @ Zythos Bierfestival 2019 (Leuven), BB: n/a - (2019-592) Thanks to nathanvc, 77ships & Anke for sharing today's beers!
Clear black beer, big solid creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: nice roasted notes, alcohol, whisky is very clearly present, giving a bit of a sugary impression. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: vanilla, dark chocolate, bit sweet, carmel, soft bitterness, whisky. Aftertaste: lactose maybe? More vanilla and chocolate, alcohol is noticeable, very nice one!
