Draught Small white head over hazy pale orange beer. Lactic nose, but, once again, 4vinylguaiacol, if subdued, banana. Taste of 4VG in force, impression of toasted malts, lacks cruelly lactic acid, even if there is a light, but dominated acidity. Ends in a mild bitterish-hoppy flavour that, contradictory to all common sense, almost saves the beer. Refreshing - they got that allright at least - light body. Here it is. This was presented as a Wyeast exhibition product, and there is the Bavarian Weizen with its clove/banana, instead of the clean Berliner Weisse it ought to be! None of the Kindl, Schultheiss and similar Weissbiere I ever tasted since the early eighties ever displayed as much of a trace of 4VG.
