Quite hazy, dirty-orange beer with greenish shine; no head to speak of. Vague parsley nose, and a bit nutty (slightly "overdue" bottle). Both nutty and slightly grassy taste, some caramel apparent, even a bit toasted. Finish is metallic, but not really bitter. Very empty palate, watery MF, just a little burning sensation. If this "gave the Northeast a reputation for strong flavoursome ales"... Oh, well, I’ve had TTLandlord aplenty, and I suppose it must be better on cask.
Bottle Amber, foamy lacing head. Apples and grass in the aroma. I the flavor the malt takes ove in front of a background of slightly dusty hops. Ends on a slightly metallic note. Fitting light body, mouthfeel is sparkly. Dusty apples in the aftertaste.
Sampled cask conditioned at Black Bull, Haltwhistle, Northumberland.
Deep amber. Flowery aroma. Light bodied and mild. Dryish with soft mouthfeel. Some bitterness in the finish. A very drinkable bitter.
