21/XII/21 - 37.5cl bottle from the brewery @ ElManana+1’s place, bottled: 18/XI/20, BB: +3Y (2021-1587) Thanks to ElManana for sharing the bottle!
Pretty clear dark brown to purple brown beer, small creamy dense beige head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, lots of blackberries, acidic, complex, vinegar notes, funky, wood notes, dusty, some vanilla. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, bit roasted, funky, fruity, dry, tannins, vinegar, juicy. Aftertaste: bitter, vinegar, balanced acidity, dry, tannins, blackberries, funky, some wood notes, good stuff!
Bottle at home, dark red-brown beer, small head. Aroma is tart, fruit, caramel, malt. Taste is the same, sour, dry, fruit, long sour vinous aftertaste, nice.
Ah, Nevel. I appreciate their philosophy, and like their concepts, I just never really "get" their beers. Sure, it's tasty but not great to me. Leathery, sour, oaky, some good blackberries, and pretty vinous. Tasty, but meh?
Batch #2. Dark with beige ring head. Mild sour and firm earthy & fruity blackberries, big old oak notes, rotting rainbarrel, and some soft sickly lactic milkfilmy touch. Tasty eerie dark forest pool. Balsamico & cassis. Pretty lovely.
Bottle shared thanks to Thijs. Bit hazy dark brown with short lasting beige head. Indeed a lot of blackberries, roasted malts, earthy, ash, soft funk, dry oak. Under medium sweet and sour, lighter bitter. Medium bodied.
Licht zuur, wat balsamico en tjokvol bramen. Niet helemaal mijn ding, maar wel prima bier
17 August 2019. At Gents Bierfestival X. Cheers to Anke, Kevin & the crew! Hazy dark brown, lasting, thin, foamy, tan head. Aroma of blue grape, cranberry, sour cherry, toast, wood, nuts. Taste is medium fruity sour, offering a basket of brambleberry, grapes, cranberry & cherry with a fitting undertone of nuts, caramel & toast, leading to a dry, herbal hoppy finish, somewhat earthy & woody with lingering subtle red fruits. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Excellent feeling of 'autumn' in a Sour beer.
Dark brown with no head. Aroma and lfavour are quite sour and funky. Quite earthy and hebal too.
