Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle I kindly got from Fin & Loz, thanks a lot! Light chill haze golden, big fluffy lacing head. Lively fruity, light bretty notes, Medium body, mellow chewy mouthfeel. Complex sweet with well balanced fruits and spices. Dangerously sippable.

Been a long time since I've had one of these. My puppy is to sell all of their beers and I had reviewed all of them here. Now all my reviews are gone. Typical. Anyway this beer is better than my memory of it. Very well-balanced smooth well made Belgian golden ale.

Left Boskeun 1989, right Boskeun 2022. Both Great in their own way. Boskeun 1989... Old Madeira... Little bitterness left and Dolle magic.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Perfume nose. Clear medium amber colour, huge frothy white head, diminishing slowly, thin layer remains, light lacing. Intense aroma, sweet malts, yeast, grain, white grapes, alcohol notes. Smooth taste, medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grain, yeast, spicy notes, touch of honey, light alcohol. Full-bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, mineral notes, warming alcohol, some cardboard, elegant, clean, well-balanced, very good.
