12 oz bottle from Beer Peddlers. Black pour, small beige head, settles quickly. Aroma is bitter roast malts, dark chocolate, small hit of coffee. Taste blends it all together perfectly, chocolate, coffee, cocoa. Slick and smooth, with a bit of heat.

Dark black from the bottle with minimal beige head which soon goes. Aroma gives the obligatory dark chocolate, bit of coffee and a big whisky barrel hit. Taste is bitter and boozy but also with a kahlua like creaminess. Booziness gives a tingle in the mouth. After taste is full of booze, and then fades into chocolatey bitterness. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black Chocolate Stout on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Bottle, winter 06/07. Black and opague. Roast, dark chocolate and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Malty, salty flavor with licorice, cacao and dark chocolate, coming up strongly in the aftertaste. Full bodied, just a bit alcoholic, but well balanced.

Last bottle of my 2014 stash. Not as much chocolate flavor as when it was fresh, but it’s aged remarkably well!

The Aromas, while not overly complex, are a nice balanced, Pleasant blend of cocoa, roast and dark malt. Flavors are not as balanced as the aromas. Flavors are bittersweet with sweet having the edge along with some molasses and licorice. Rose comes out more in the Finish nice rich beer.
