This AtG twist on a German rauchbier has a simple malt bill with lots of house smoked malt. For this batch, we used primarily pecan and sugar maple with a few extra surprises thrown in. Look for a complex and unique smoke flavor as the centerpiece to this German smoked lager. Moderate additions of Tettnanger hops help to balance out the sweetness without making their presence too pronounced.

On tap at AtG Brewery & Smokehouse. Sampler tray. Deep amber color with an light beige head. Huge smoked aroma jumps out of the glass: charcoal, kindling, BBQ pit with malty undertones. Sweetness is evident on the palate with a heavy smokiness throughout the finish.

Draft. Strong smoked malt aroma with hints of lemon and apple. Hazy golden yellow with large white head. Sweet wood smoke, apple, biscuit malt and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Fruity and smoky - delicious.
