Bottle from trade with Hackobock, many thanks. Pale reddish with small head. Funky cherries, some barnyard, a bit of yoghurt. Fairly complex with a bit of tartness lingering. Nice balance, but a bit diluted.
Tap @ The source. Pours hazy red with a small pink head. Aromas of cherries, vinegar, citrus, light funk. Taste is sour red like, cherries, vinegar, light balsamico, oaky.
Bottle from Craft Brewed shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish pomegranate color with a finger of pink foam that dissipates. Lovely cherry flesh and tart cherry skin on the nose. Spritzy carbonation with more musty cherry notes, skin and faint stone astringency in the background. Some mineral notes on the finish and cobweb and light must. Very nice.
Draft - Sweet and sour cherry with a touch of balsamic. Deep rosy red with a decent white head. Sour cherry with some nice sweet notes. Complexity isn’t there, but still nice.
Bottle at RateBeer Awards. Pours a hazy ruby with small off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is oak, funk, cherry skin, mineral. Thin body, tart cherry, spice, oak, dry finish, very nice.
Bottle courtesy of Robert. Pours hazy bright red with a small pinkish white head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and earthy with sourdough bread, lemon juice, sour cherries, moist soil, leather, barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, sour and fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is sour with green apples, lemon juice, sour cherries, leather and funk. Bit simple and green apple heavy but fairly tasty still. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oude Kriek on 29 Jul 2016 at 17:56 - Score: 7. Original review text: Beautiful red. Musty kriek with leather, wood, mushrooms and funk. Quite tasty...
Bottle share on 6/11/16. Pours a nice mahogany with a small wispy head. Cherries up front, as expected for a kriek. Taste doesn’t depart, although this also very tart, but more fresh fruit than candy sweet.
