Bottle sample @ BBB. Pours oily pitch black with a creamy mocha head that leaves some sparse spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, ketjap manis, sweet liquorice candy, raisins, prunes, leather, roasted coconut and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, slightly salty and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, velvety, round, roasted astringent, boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and slightly salty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, roasted coconut and bourbon alcohol. Thick rich and velvety imperial stout with prominent yet suiting barrel character. Great stuff and a big improvement to regular Black Ops, especially in the mouthfeel. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black Ops Late Bottle Vintage (LBV)(2007) on 13 May 2015 at 21:09 - Score: 8

Moved from the "Regular" Black Ops. Black colour with a small head. Aroma is liquorice, fruits, mild coffee and some chocolaty notes as well. Flavour is liquorice, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, mild roasted malts as well as some slight ripe fruity and ashy notes. One of the best I’ve ever tried.
