As with all sour ales, the initial sip wakes up your dull senses. There is an elevated level of Acetic Acids working their magic in this beer. The first sip assaults the palate in an enamel stripping bottom of the pH chain sort of way. In Belgian brewing there are fantastic wild ales brewed with naturally occurring yeast. These beers develop over time and are ready on their own terms.

Duck Duck Gooze is our homage to these effervescent and wonderfully complex sparkling beers.A blend of young and old barrel aged beers, this has been one of our most sought after beers year after year since it’s original release in 2009. Alas, it is released in very small quantities only once every three years, so it’s extremely difficult to come by beyond the day we release it. It does, however, turn up on our Tasting Room’s Vintage List from time to time, so don’t despair.

Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is simplistic, lactic acid. Taste is full, dry, citrussy, mild acetic acid, lactic acid, oak. OK. Very tart, medium body, medium carbo. Astringent and slightly unbalanced tartness.

Bottle, 18-19ml pour. Pours hazy orange with a small white head that vanishes in an instant. Aromas of vinegar, light grapes, barnyard, some earthy notes, woody notes. Taste is pretty sour, vinegar, light grapes, some sweet vanilla notes and very oaky notes. Goddamn nice sour!

Corked bottle. Golden color. Oak, vanilla, apple, honey and lemon in the aroma. Sour, oaky flavor with vinegar, honey, lemon and vanilla. Great complexity, but also a few raw edges. A great beer, comparable to the better geuzes.

Bottle shared at Alex's Birthday. Pours a clearish orange gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that dissipates. Musty, funky hay, horseblanket and gooseberry notes. Oak with some mild vinegar notes. More oak on the palate with lots of funk, some lemon and more gooseberry. Some lactic tang toward the finish, acidic but not overly so with more of the oak, citrus mustiness on the finish.

From 750ml bottle, v2016, thanks to Fotis!! Light hazy golden color with white head. Malty and yeasty aroma, funky, tart stone fruits, citrus fruity too, vinous, wood. Sweet and acidic taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
