Botella de @DeCervecitas, Online. 18/09/2020. Color marrón corona de espuma blanca, aromas maltosas, cereal, sabor maltosa, notas dulces, cuerpo medio.
Tap at Delirium Tokyo. Copper coloured, and quite different. Fruity berries in the aroma, maybe almost cherry. Taste is fruity and quite sweet. Doesn't feel very saison like. No graininess. Quite sweet, caramel. Quite nice but a little too sweet for me to drink more than a small glass.
Creamy off-white head. Just a bit soapy aroma. Sweet and caramelly with butterscotch. Apricot fruit. Some skunky bitterness. Disappointing saison. 5 3 5 2 9 = 2.4 Re-rate: bottled march 1992, sampled april 2005. Dust an sherry in the aroma. There’s still power under the cork. Sweet and raisiiny. Has become thin, but there’s still loads of flavor. Cherry sweets, mandarin. Vinous. A pleasant surprise, this 13 year old beer. (7 3 7 3 13 = 3.3). The rating is for the fresh version. Re-rate: tap. Café de Engel Oldenzaal. Sweet flavor with hops, licorice, caramel and mustard. Long lingering caramelly bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all, too sweet to be really good.
Dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, metal. Taste is the same, iron taste, sweet, bitter. ok
330ml bottle at ORB Belgium Beer Festival 2018. Pours a reddish golden-brown colour with thin tan head and fruity, yeasty aroma. Taste is sweetish malty, grainy, bready, earthy with tangy berry fruit & yeast notes and some bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry earthy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
F: big, pale tanned, average retention. C: dark coppery against the light, almost clear. A: malty, caramel, mellow fruity, bit herbal, almost bit vinous. T: malty, sweet fruity, bit nutty, herbal, bit bread, bit red grapes, unusual Saison for me, but as a beer good balanced, enjoyed, medium body and carbonation, 33cl bottle from Rob The Gourmets' Market in Brussels.
