Bottle. Reddish amber color. Red berries and oily hops in the aroma. Oily hopbitter flavor with upcoming tartness. Red berries. Surprisingly sour, still pretty well balanced.
Bottle at home. Bit hazy amber with good sized cream colored head. Looks nice. Caramel, lots of grassy hops, grapefruit, dried fruits, plum skins. There's an almost tannic fruit skin tang in the finish that is a bit strong and unpleasant, especially after the more grassy hops that are more up front. Over medium sweet, bitter and bodied. It has its flaws but it's still a drinkeable decent beer.
Last Natte Gijt in the fridge… ?Should really try this one a bit fresher next time, maybe on draught somewhere? ?
Clear copper colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have lots of floral hop. Finish is bittersweet and syrupy.
0.33 l bottle from ’Drankenspeciaalzaak van Haastregt/Lamers’, best before January 2019. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, rather resiny and moderately fruity aroma of orange jam, mango, pine and a touch of honey. Quite sweet, slightly bitter, rather resiny, herbal and moderately fruity taste of orange jam, mango, lots of pine, tea leaves and some honey, followed by a medium long, rather dry-bitter, resiny and slightly herbal finish. Over medium-bodied, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. On the resiny side, quite dry, rather demanding, but overall really enjoyable!
Sour fruity, caramel, light roasted malt, licorice, honey, exotic fruits. Hoppy bitterness is strong. Backlog from 2014/08/07.
33cl bottle from Speciaalbierwinkel, Leiden. Thick off white head. Hazy golden amber pour. Lovely bitterness. Another nice brew from de Natte Gijt.
Very hoppy and dry bitter beer. Has a fruity aroma, but the bitterness is dominant in the taste. Has a brett like tardiness. Good beer.
Pours nice amber, a lot of foam that is slowly reducing. Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, sticky tropical fruits, sugary fructose. Tastes like a proper IPA - feels rather Old World style although the hops are from the New World. Soft and slightly bitter hops - a bit dry and resiny. Nice.
