0,75 at Sanders birthday. brown color, small tan head. Smells dried fruits, marzipan, nutty, wood, raisins. Nice smell. Full body. Tastes of peppery, sweetness, wood, sweet wine, lightly boozy, nutty, marzipan. Finishes medium sweet with notes of booze, port and dried fruits. Nice one, good to drink, bit on the boozy side but lovely balance. 7,4,7,3,17
Bottle. Almost clear ruby color, medium rocky head. Aroma of oak, port wine, some raisin and candy sugar. In taste quite sweet, bit alcoholic, spicy of clove and orange peel, lots of port wine dominating without being overly present. Aroma had the feel of an aged HJ Grand Prestige with its dusty notes and port defelopment. Flavor is more obvious it has indeed aged om port barrels. Another very nice beer, but the least of the three done at Hertog Jan. --- Beer merged from original tick of Grand Prestige Vatgerijpt Port (2017) on 28 Jan 2018 at 20:48 - Score: 7. Original review text: Ruikt naar stoffige GP, in smaak meer port zoetigheid. Cognac en bourbon vond ik beter
Big improvement for sure. Notes of port, without having to age it! Sweet, fruity, vinous and thick. Real nice beer, ridiculously overpriced.
Bottle @ home shared by TomHendriksen. Clear dark red to red-brown color, medium beige head. Aroma is malts, sweetish, a bit sugary. Tastes about the same: malts, sweetish, sugary, slightly bitter. Medium body, decent carbonation.
Bottle @ benzai. Brown colour with a small off-white head. Smells sweet, raisins, red fruits. Tastes red fruits, sweet, raisins, roasty, vanilla. I actually like it. Full body, soft carbo.
