Color negro opaco corona de espuma beige, aromas café,cacao sabor torrefacto, tostado, cacao, cuerpo denso. Rica
On tap @ Founders Festival (Madrid).
Black color, beige head. Aroma: ripe black fruits, roasted malts, prunes. Flavor: slightly sweet, wooden notes, black fruits. Nice one.
Black with thin creamy head. Aroma and flavour are intense with heavily roasted, bitter coffee and cocoa. Really dry. The background vanilla sweetness balances it out well.
Backlog because I was angry at Ratebeer when I had it and didn't want to rate it. Bottle @ home. Black colour with a small light brown head. Smells sweet, vanilla, marshmellow, roasty. Tastes roasty, vanilla, marshmellow, sweet, chocolate, mocca. Super smooth beer. Love it.
Flaske 355ml fra Systembolaget Luleå - Storheden. Delt med djoeye og Rune på Nerstranda 8 Nov 17. Svart. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Spotlacing. Aroma av melkesjokolade. Smaken sjokoladedrikk & vanilje. Tørr ettersmak.
355ml bottle kindly shared by Finn. A fawn-coloured head with a deep ruby tint, dark, near-black, body. Spotty lacing. Earthy chocolate nose, vanilla sweet. Taste of cocoa, lactose and coffee beans. Slightly O'Boy impression. Lingering dry dark malty ending. Smooth in the mouth. Full bodied. Nice sipper qualities. (Rating session at Finns with djoeye and Finn, Tromsø 08.11.2017).
Bottle from Beer Republic, 66 cl sample. Dark color, medium frothy head. Aroma of dry vanilla, coffee and roast. Bit sweet in taste, dry vanilla, coffee. Bit powdery instead of creamy and smooth. Expected more actually. Or maybe it is because Im major pissed off by what RB is doing at the moment.
Shared from bottle at Maakun’s. Black with light tan head. Deep roasted chocolate malts, charcoal, coffee, burnt marshmallows, vanilla. Big sweet and deep roasted bitter. Full body and soft carbonation. Nice coffee candy stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ballast Point Victory at Sea on 26 Dec 2017 at 11:09 - Score: 8. Original review text: 4.1
Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Black with quite big tan head. Lots of coffee, vanilla, sweet chocolate, grassy hops, toffee, light herbs, a hint of roasted coconut. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with grainy cocoa feel and light dry finish. Very nice.
Tried this in 2009 (pre-RB) in Manhattan Beach, CA. Now a retry from tap @ Beer Temple. Black color. Sticky, creamy beige head with good lacing. Aroma’s: vanilla, roast, mocha, vla/custard. Retronasal there’s hard roasted malts, ground coffee, sweetness, vanilla. Flavor is roasted, light sweet, moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Long finish, moderate to full bitter. Good stuff!
