This is Old Nation's Vienna Lager, a traditional version of the Austrian lager style. It carries balanced nutty, toasted notes which support light and delicate spice flavors from Hallertau Hersbruecker hops. Like all lager, it's about balance, subtlety, and how the flavors meld together. It takes some attention to appreciate, but we think it's worth it! - T. Fritts (Owner, Old Nation Brewing Co.)

Can. Lightly hazy amber body. Frothy off-white head. Aroma of bready malts, grain, caramel, light floral hops, biscuit, herbs. Starts moderately sweet, finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Flavors of bread, herbs, biscuit. A bit of raw grain flavor drags this down a bit. But nice, easy drinking lager.

16 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 10/11/2019. Pours crystal clear orange/copper/amber/light reddish color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of caramel, nuttiness, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of caramel, nuttiness, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nuttiness, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an outstanding Vienna lager. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesomely clean/rich Vienna/Munich malt showcase; with nice noble hop presence/balance for the style. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example as expected.

6 day old can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear copper to light chestnut brown with a finger of off-white foam that dissipates. Lovely bready, toasty malts on the nose with some hay and light earthy notes. Balanced on the palate with more toasted malt, fresh baked whole grain bread and light grassy hops. Easy drinking with a nice body. Perfect for fall.
