Guldenberg is a high-fermenting, balanced bitter beer. The origin of the name comes from the former Guldenberg-abbey in Wevelgem where monks used to make beer. Also, Wevelgem is the birthplace of one of the brewers.

Taste: A full-bodied abbey beer that balances between sweet and bitter. It is dry-hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrüh which results in a unique soft-bitter taste and aroma.

Butcher’s Tears (Guantanamo Baywatch). Pretty nice hoppy tripel/blonde. Backlog from 2015/11/15 (7.3 / 6-8-7-6-8) //// 2020-06-17. Orangey pour with white head. Sweet and firm bitter, barley and orange peels, honey, coriander seed, sweet, umami and bitter. This beer is really amazing, completely underrated it last time (but had a great time). Maybe I’m just old farting but man what’s wrong with this kind of beer? Why are we praising lactose infused mango juice instead of this?

Tap at Moeder Lambic St Gilles. Golden orange colour, big foamy off-white head. Aroma is flowery and fruity, orange, bit of grapefruit bitterness in the background. Taste really nice, taste fruity again, quite soft, little bit of sweetness. Some bitterness lingering, but mainly fruity. Little bit of creamy maltiness too. Forgot how nice this is.
