A classic dry stout of 7% vol alcohol, brewed with smoked wheat malt and flavored with fresh vanilla.

Charbon is a beer with contradictions: the roasted flavors work together with the smoke flavor from oak-smoked wheat malt to give a good dose of pit with the beer. On the other hand the customized extract of fresh vanilla gives us a mild soft and subtle touch in the beer. The combination provides a thrilling Stout on which the antithetical taste nevertheless ensures a harmonious and balanced whole.

Bottle. Good stuff, smoky spiciness, bit meaty, lots of roast, with little bit of sweetness at the end but subtle. Almost lemon sherbert like.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Milk chocolate, malt and vanilla in the aroma. Alcohol, roast, coffee, ash and smoke in the flavor. Vanilla coming up in the aftertaste. Interesting taste and fairly complex beer.

Bottle from the Permanent Beer Fest, tried twice (thanks Serghei and Matija), slightly past the BB date. Muddy brown body, little head. The aroma is basically a rough dry maltiness, maybe trace smoke. Dry taste, very much woody, more so than smokey, some stale yeastiness, just feels old and it's strange it doesn't age well. Very little to no vanilla. Rough but somehow still interesting, some loved it in this shape too. Guess I need to rerate it fresh.
