Bottle. Strong maraschino cherry and light chocolate aroma. Dark brown with moderate tan head. Sweet-lightly tart cherry and chocolate malt flavor. Really no bock characteristics at all but still a pleasant fruit beer.
On tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a fairly clear reddish brown appearance with a brown head. Maraschino cherry x20, chocolate, light vanilla, tart aroma. Flavor is more subdued but still very good. Tart black cherry, caramel, cookie flavor. Very similar to Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat in terms of the cherry. Great.
Bottle. Very dark brwon with reddish tint, spongy beige large head, cherry aroma, well balanced, not too sweet cherry flavored chocolate taste, longish finish with roasted malt aftertaste. Nice one, enjoyed trying it.
Bottle. Pours a dark brown and medium creamy off white head that diminshes quickly. The aroma is cherry and cocoa. Thin mouthfeel with rich chocolate and cherry flavor. Good.
Bottle: Pours nearly black, rubied, with a thick tan head. Chocolate and cherry aroma....(surprise!) Taste is creamy, milk chocolate over cherries. Cherry is just right, not overpowering. Chocolate is velvety rich. Really tasty.
Initial whiff is Dr. Pepper, cherry dies out in the flavor and gives way to the chocolate, with some cherry/Dr. Pepper in the background. Sweetness hides the alcohol content. Finish is dry and somewhat chalky. A bit sweeter than is the norm for a winter beer, but interesting nonetheless. Gets better with each sip.
Draft. Pours black with light brown head. Nose/taste of cherry cordial, cheap cocktail cherries and light cocoa. Medium body.
