Pitch black color. Massive bourbon, dark chocolatey nose. The mouth is sweet, low carbonation. Molasses, bourbon, dark fruit and wood. Over the top and very intense, but I loved it.
Holy s.... bring on the rare, the retired and hopefully, the extremely exciting (need I say who sent this to us?). My GF noted the ugly label... and how we were excited about it anyway. Imagine that :D. Batch 122, guessed correctly it’s probably from 2009, go me! Anywaaaay. Black, small tan head. Dusty, creamy nose, raisins and peat. Sticky, heavy... Humm. Taste... caramel, raisins, dry, slightly salty, light plastic, very light burn... light... something I can’t read. The barrel can be felt, but it’s relatively 1-dimensional. Very, very light coffee. Ah, dunno, not my type, but a solid beer in any case.
Bottle at the monthly molen tasting. Decent tan head. Deep dark pour. Yummy barrel taste. Great beer!
