From bomber, pours clear mahogany with huge dense tan head. Full bodied. Dark fruit yeasty banana aroma. Caramel banana raisin malty taste. Sweet banana finish with some hops bitterness to it.
Bottle. Pours dark hazy brown with a frothy offwhite head. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, raisins, prunes, yeasty, caramel. Taste is sweet, dark fruits, lots of prunes, grain, sweet malt, caramel.
Bottle from 2011. Can't believe I've never rated this! Maybe not the most representative drinking though. Aroma is a bit more boozy than a fresh one. Rich and fruity. Taste is similar but also has that yeasty malty ovaltine thing that I'd expect. Very easy drinking with a little spritziness at the start then a long fading finish. Little booze burn but very nice stuff.
Intense aroma of hops, chocolate, yeast, porto and fruit (apple, raisins). Very full bodied. Sweet, malty taste with porto, some fruitiness and a alcohol burn. A bit tart. The aroma is more intense than the flavor. Nevertheless a complex and delicious beer, well worth looking for.
330 ml bottle. Murky dark brown, foamy head. Caramel, toffee, raisin, brown sugar, rum, cognac, cocoa. Malty sweetness, some dry bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry sweet finish, alcohol well hidden, however noticeable. Good Quad with nice drinkability.
