The Huvila X-Porter has a deep black appearance with a brown head. Creamy, slightly nutty, smooth chocolate malt nose. The taste is similar to its nose but also allows the taste of toffee to come through. The after taste then turns more chocolate with toffee. This is a rarity as not many top-fermented Baltic Porters are made any more. Our “hero” at the San Diego Int’l Beer Festival 2010! It is available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila X-Porter is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar. Last, but not least, Huvila X-Porter is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers. Name has since changed to Malmgård X-Porter.

500ml bottle, thanks Japppppp! Pours black, small tan head. Aroma is cola, dark berries, soft roast. Taste sees initial soft ashy roast with an enticing sweet blend of dark berries, cola, cherries, caramel emerging. Nice woody ashy bitterness on the finish. Great balanced, well-rounded porter. Really good.

Bottle [probably thanks to VastActiv from Euro Secret Summer Santa] @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown colored head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma and flavor are malts, a bit nutty, nice fairly soft coffee, moderately roasty, light dark chocolate, nice chocolate roast bitter finish. Medium body, suitable soft carbonation. Lovely beer, absolutely delicious!

RBESG 2017, sampled on July 23, 2017 @ St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki. Pours dark brown, beige foam on top. Nose has some slight roast, soy and some additional green stuff I cannot put my finger on. Tastes sweet, roasty, nice dry finish. Decent stuff, not too sweet overall.

500 ml. bottle split by 3 as "Huvila X-Porter". Dark brown, low black hue, tanned head that quickly fizzes away. Nose is faint sourish red berries, licorice, herbal, sweet licorice, faintly metallic,... Taste is fizzy, bit thin, herbal, licorice, some red fruit, cacao, overall rather thin, dry, bit fizzy,... About okay, slightly flawed old school UK porter. Body is thin, fizzy, carbonation bit too high. Above average for a Finish beer.

Bottle. Dark chocolate aroma over coffee with a hint of caramel and nuts. Lots of cocoa taste with a decent bitterness and a matching carbonation and texture. Medium body with a long chocolate palate. Very nice.

From 500 ml bottle courtesy of nuser. Thanks Nils! Black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma, vinous too, light fruity, licorice, herbal notes, chocolate. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma with some raisins. Light to medium oily body with average carbonation.
