Bottle shared for my birthday with the Dangerous Bottleshares crew. Pours a pitch black with a medium dark brown head. The aroma on this is out of the world. God damn. Bounty chocolate bars, fresh coconut, dark rich chocolate, bourbon, some nutty notes, light coffee, malty sweetness, vanilla, light earthy notes, roast. The taste follows with a lot of bourbon, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, fudge, coconut, roast. Not as much coffee as Last Snow which I actually like. I’ll take everything FB puts out, thanks.
Thanks Zack for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing inky black and translucent coffee rims. The nose shows a strong mix of coconut and vanilla. The palate is full bodied and lightly carbonated. Flavors of intense coconut and vanilla on a light bed of roasted malts and coffee. Tropical yet with an ice cream like edge with a minty mouthfeel.
Pours black, small ring of foam. Smell is full, black malts, maple, Taste is vey full, creamy, sweet, maple, oak, bourbon. Really great ! Much coconut towards the end.
Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong coconut, bourbon, wood, vanilla, spice. Thick mouth, chewy, roast, strong coconut, nice sweetness, bourbon, vanilla, really enjoyed this.
Bottle courtesy of linusb. Pours viscous blackish very dark brown with a small creamy mocha head that leaves some very sparse trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty and nutty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, milk chocolate, roasted coconut, coconut milk, bounty bar, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and nutty. Mouthfeel is viscous, creamy, round, tiny astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and slightly bitter with roasted malts, roasted coconut, rich dark chocolate and bourbon. Candy Imperial Stout but I can’t help loving it. Immense coconut character enhanced by the barrel. Great stuff! --- Beer merged from original tick of Funky Buddha Snowed In - Bourbon Barrel on 28 May 2016 at 15:00 - Score: 8.
