big bubble in a medium brown color brew. The nose is sweeter, more perfumy with chocolate creeping out. As the beer warmed it became more like chocolate puffed wheat bites. . It doesn’t have the nose of the Hellas. Perfect balance. The body is modestly hoppy, rustic character with some chocolate notes. Again, it slowly dries out with low medium bitterness. Good stuff no doubt, but nowhere near as complex as the world class Hellas.

Bottle from the brewery, 10days after being bottled, many thanks MoritzF! Beautiful deep ruby-amber color with creamy off-white head (this would deserve a 6 in Appearance). Aroma is bready, some young sulphuric Zwickel flavours, a touch chocolate and earthy. Taste is caramely, earthy, rustic, extremely moreish. Silky mouthfeel with natural carbonation. The aftertaste does not match the more craving directly before swallowing, it's kinda roasted and rough. Extremely moreish, and even tastier than their Danzbier Hell - at least from the bottle. 8-5-9-4-16Tap, May 2019. Hazy orange-amber color with creamy eggshell head. Aroma is bready, yeasty, nice fruity malts and hops. Taste is black bread, juicy hops, a bit mineraly. Dry finish. Silky-yeasty mouthfeel with natural carbonation. About as good as a Dunkles can get. 8-5-8-4-17

Pour from the fermentation tank @ the brewery. Hazy amber pour with a frothy offwhite head. Malty, herbal & floral nose with rustic sourdough bread, caramel & those same lovely floral German hops as the danzbier. Honey, dried flowers, hay & minerals. Very light wood & citrus zest. Slightly sweet, bitter, malty, herbal & floral taste. Soft, round & tiny astringent mouthfeel. Spot on perfect balance between the malts & hops. Absolutely mindblowing! --- Beer merged from original tick of Dunkles Kellerbier on 17 Jun 2016 at 19:34 - Score: 9. Original review text: Amazing rustic malt base. Lovely floral hops. Extremely easy to drink and just so god damn balanced and delicious!!!

Würzig dunkler Antrunk mit einem ordentlichen Hopfenanteil. Volle Karamellnoten, herrlich vollmundig und frisch, erdiig, nussig, spitze! 12/13/13/13//13

Tap at brewery. NIce complex aroma - fruity apple and cherry malt. Dark tan color with ample lasting head. A well blended sweet malt flavor with mild hops finish. Nice full bodied beer. So great.
