Birth of Tragedy: Akmel Nuri is an imperial porter brewed with organic cinnamon and honey, and aged in bourbon barrels on Akmel Nuri’s coffee from Limu Kosa, Jimma in Ethiopia. We chose two barrels of Birth of Tragedy as the base for this single origin coffee experiment. After aging for 20 months in select bourbon barrels, we conditioned this beer atop Akmel Nuri’s Ethiopian coffee beans sourced and roasted by The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Teeny tiny bottle split 4 ways at fridge temp

A - Completely black, a small bit of head shows on the swirl.

S - Very intense dark chocolate, Smells amazing. brandy, whiskey, liquor, coconut and espresso!

T - The taste is great! brownie batter, cocoa, sweet milk chocolate and the honey finish. it’s an incredible variant of Birth of Tragedy

M - Viscous mouthfeel that is akin to a well carbed espresso shot with lots of crema and a bit of mocha on top.

O - I like this far more than the regular Birth. A shame it was limit one but wow, incredible.

Bottle thanks to Derek. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong roast, fudge, brownie, wood, bourbon, vanilla. Medium body, brownie, dark chocolate, roast, vanilla, hides alcohol well, really enjoyed this.
