On tap at Tørst. Pours very dark brown. Fig, prune, biscuit, dried raspberry, caramel, raisins, toffee, dried strawberry. Good full soft body. Very good.
Damn, the barleywine hype is indeed real. Just silly how smooth this is. Incredibly well made and balanced barleywine, raisins, caramel, soft malts. Add to that great bourbon barrel ageing, oak, vanilla, light booze. Awesome.
04-07-20 // Hopfenjünger-Hef big bottle sharing 2020. 2018 vintage. Barleywine perfection. Wow. Sugary sweetness but the sweetness so extremely balanced and embedded. Candied sugar and soaked fruits. Thick velvety mouthfeel. Fantastic bourbon notes.
Bottle shared. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small light brown head. Aromas of sweet caramel, chocolate, vanilla, fudge, malty backbone, lots of dark fruits. Taste is caramel, toffee, maple, honey like notes, butterscotch, dark fruits, booze.
