33cl bottle as “De Prael D.I.P.A.” from Brouwerij de Prael in Amsterdam. F: big, tan, good retention. C: amber, hazy with yeasty debris. A: orange, tangerine, pine, tropical fruits. T: full malty base, orange, grapefruits, bit pine resin, tropical fruits, long lasting bitterness, dry on the palate, good balanced for the style, fully enjoyed.
Tap @ Morshuis. Amber color, very cloudy. Hints of yeast, grapefruit and pineapple in the aroma and flavor. Floral hops. Grassy hopbitter finish. Looks ugly, but especially the flavor is good.
Double IPA by De Prael in Amsterdam, from a bottle at Biertuin; apparently also sold as Nachtvlinder. Membrane-lacing, eggshell-white, stable, thick head on a misty, orange-hued peach blonde beer. Aroma of mango cubes, orange peel, pink grapefruit, papaja, soggy biscuit, canned pineapple, white pepper, bitterroot, tonic water. Sweet and fruity onset, a tad estery (especially for a DIPA) with notes of peach, pineapple, banana and guava, sourish edge, softish carb, full and rounded mouthfeel, bit oily. Fluffy, bready and bit biscuity malt sweet body with a caramelly edge, underneath an increasing, long, firmly bittering and elegantly spicy hoppy finish with citrusy and floral aspects to it, highlighted by wodka-like warming alcohol in the tail; a rooty bitterness lasts for a long time, but the malt sweetness does so as well. Lush, 'full' and firm, bit Belgian ale-influenced DIPA, tending towards these modern 'tripel hop' and Belgian IPA-like beers we see in Belgium these days, but in that sense a very decent one, enjoyed it a lot.

Tap @Proeflokaal De Prael. Cloudy deep amber colour, small frothy off-white head, diminishes slowly, fair lacing. Aroma pale malts, fruity (peach, apricot, lemon), toffee, some pine. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, light fruity and piney. Mild bittersweet finish, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, less bitter than expected but a good beer anyway.
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Didn’t pour the yeast, so clear amber-brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of confit fruits, butterscotch, marmalade, leafy hops, light herbal, some caramel. Flavour is fruity, malty, butterscotch, some caramel, marmalade, herbal, grassy, firm bitter finish, light resinous. Medium bodied. Drinkable, not too sweet, but tastes more like a mediocre barley wine.
Tap at De Prael. Backlog from 2015/02/22. I couldn’t find this on on Ratebeer before somehow... Luckily I saved my notes on my phone. Slightly hazy amber with small head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. Lots of caramel, orange, light fruits. Quite sweet with lasting bitterness. Full bodied. 3.2 At Prael Den Haag. More hazy and fruity, more NE character. An improvement.
