Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a cloudy copper with thick creamy off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is cedar, oak, earth. Medium mouth, spice, nuts, caramel. sweet, very good.
Bottle @ Dan’s house. Beautiful, red-orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Lemon citrusy, woody, caramel malty, a touch spicy nose. A touch spicy, lightly citrusy, caramel/toffee malt driven flavor with notes of wood and various spices. Sweet toffee, caramel, slightly bitter aftertaste. This is an Imperial Märzen, so the current imperial pils category seems a little messed up.
Bottle thanks to Msante79. Pours muddy brown with white head. Some retention. Nose of cedar, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, molasses and caramel. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, molasses, oak and vanilla. More like an upscale American Strong Ale than a lager.
